uchimura

julio uchimura transforms found objects, which he cuts and shapes by hand to
create multi-dimensional canvases on which he uses homemade pigments. julio
moved to Lynchburg from California to settle into a slower pace of life where he
could concentrate on his work. His pieces most obviously reflect the idea of
reusing materials. Most of his sculptures represent machinery and musical
instruments. Each has a distinct voice and a distinct story. These narratives
often focus on social issues or the history of the object itself.
