Riverviews Artspace invites all visitors to photograph their experiences in and around the Riverviews building using the Instagram iPhone application. Visitors can tag Riverviews in the comment section by including @riverviews_artspace as well as by hash-tagging their photographs with #artspace901. Photographs submitted through these tags will be printed and exhibited at the entrance to Riverviews’ Craddock-Terry Gallery.

This ongoing community project will begin in May and continue to November. It offers an exciting opportunity for community members and visitors to contribute to an art installation and to have their photography exhibited in an established art institution. Participants are encouraged to photograph the art, architecture, events, programs, and performances at Riverviews Artspace. Sylvia Noyes, Exhibition and Program Manager, says this about the project, “Instagram is a platform that brings out the visual artist in all of us. The goal of the Instagram Gallery at Riverviews Artspace is to encourage people to engage with art, and to continue to increase the accessibility of art in the community. My hope is that people will embrace this opportunity to create photographs with an excitement to have their work exhibited at Riverviews”. The Instagram Gallery is the kick off Riverviews’ tenth anniversary; a year-long celebration of exhibitions and events beginning First Friday, November 1st, 2013.
